NABET 700-M Unifor
Representing Ontario’s Film & Television Technicians Since 1970
NABET 700-M UNIFOR is a labour union representing film, television, and new media technicians across 14 departments in Ontario. We are the exclusive bargaining agent for technicians working under our Collective Agreement with the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA).
Founded to supply skilled videotape technicians, we grew alongside Toronto’s booming production industry, expanding to represent film and television technicians across a wide range of crafts.
1970
Merged with the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP), one of North America’s largest unions at the time.
1994
Joined with the CAW to form Unifor, now Canada’s largest private-sector union.
2013
Our mission is to protect and advocate for Ontario’s film and television technicians. Through collective representation, fair compensation, and safe working conditions, we strengthen both our members and the industry.
