SECOND CATEGORY

Permittees may be listed in two (2) different departments. Remember that each department accumulates permit fees separately to reach your membership status. Please note that you must not resubmit your NABETiquette certificate or Ministry of Labour Health and Safety certificates with your application for a Second Category. Once your application is submitted, we will forward it to the Department VP/Committee for review. Once a decision has been made, you will receive an email and post-mail notifications.

Attach your NABETiquette certificate

Remember to include your certificate in your Second Department Application. Certificates issued on or before July 9, 2017, will be accepted. For more information, visit our homepage.

Provide any extra requirements for your department and copies of any relevant licenses (Transport/Hair).

The departmental requirements are at the bottom of this page. If your department is not listed, there are no extra requirements.

Complete the Worker and Supervisor Health & Safety Modules from the Ministry of Labour

At the end of the module, you can download a digital certificate of completion to include with your application.

Attach one copy of your most updated resume

You need at least 40 DAYS OF WORK EXPERIENCE in film, television, or digital media in the department you're applying to. We define "relevant" work experience as consistent skill development in your chosen department. This involves:

  • Non-union/Commercial/Online Audiovisual Productions.

  • Student films/Volunteer work.

  • On-stage productions.

  • Print & Advertising.

International experience is also taken into account.
