About Us

Representing Ontario’s Film & Television Technicians Since 1970

NABET 700-M UNIFOR is a labour union representing film, television, and new media technicians across 14 departments in Ontario. We are the exclusive bargaining agent for technicians working under our Collective Agreement with the Canadian Media Producers Association.

1970

Founded to supply skilled videotape technicians, we grew alongside Toronto’s booming production industry, expanding to represent film and television technicians across a wide range of crafts.

1994

Merged with the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP), one of North America’s largest unions at the time.

2013

Joined with the CAW to form Unifor, now Canada’s largest private-sector union.

We are committed to protecting our members’ rights, advocating for fair compensation, safe working conditions, and work-life balance.
