November is Financial Literacy Month in Canada, and this year’s focus is on breaking stigma around conversations about money. Today, we’re sharing this post by actor and community educator Chris JamesSelf-Employment and Personal Finance Tracking: Tools for the Artist-entrepreneur.

Self-employment in the arts can be financially confusing, leading to debt, stress, and mental health challenges. Chris shares practical tools and spreadsheets he created to help track income, expenses, taxes, and personal finances. From managing tricky deductions to organizing receipts and planning debt payoff, these resources can help artists gain control, reduce stress, and build confidence in both their finances and well-being.
